Here at EBACE, Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC, Booth N114) told AIN that it continues to garner interest in its new engine oil analysis (oil debris monitoring) technology, and that customers have begun to register their engines in a trial program.
The technology allows operators to find deterioration in specific oil-wetted components before a potential event occurs without having to remove the engine. The solution takes 18 to 24 months to fully mature.
Those participating in the trial will be asked to collect oil samples at regular intervals and ship them to P&WC for analysis. Participating aviation customers will receive reports with oil-analysis results and technology updates.
P&WC asks those who wish to participate in the trial contact their field representative.
