Tulsa, Okla.-based BizJet International acquired a Rolls-Royce Tay 611-8C engine that it will make available to customers to keep them in the air when they’re having their own engine worked on. According to BizJet vice president of sales and marketing Brian Barber, the Lufthansa Technik subsidiary is the first shop outside of the OEM to offer this engine support.
“Gulfstream 450 operators no longer have to put their aircraft down during engine events,” he said. “The focus of this investment is supporting our customer’s requirements of uninterrupted business travel during maintenance events.”
BizJet has recently completed its 400th Rolls-Royce engine event since entering the market for supporting the manufacturer's turbofans in 2004.
