Bombardier recently announced a partnership with Airbus, where Airbus takes a 50.01% majority stake in the C Series airliner program. At the recent Dubai Airshow, AIN caught up with Bombardier commercial aircraft president Fred Cromer to learn more about the program’s proposed ownership structure and the companies’ future single aisle product strategies.
The U.S. Commerce Department recently issued a preliminary ruling to levy a 300% tariff on Bombardier’s sale of 75 Canada-built CS100’s to Delta Air Lines. The ruling stems from a complaint filed by Boeing that claims the CS100 competes directly with the 737 Max-7, at government subsidized prices far below the cost of production.
