A lifelong aviation enthusiast who joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in 2007, Curt came to&nbsp;the publication&nbsp;from the broadcast industry where he was a national science and technology television reporter and producer. He writes on the FBO field, aviation finance, and sustainable aviation and occasionally contributes to&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;sister publication&nbsp;Business Jet Traveler. Curt was a member of the AINtv reporting staff that won the 2008 Aerospace Journalist of the Year award for Best Airshow Daily. That same year, he was a finalist for another AJOYA award. He earned an AJOYA for Best Business Aviation Submission in 2018 and was a finalist in that category in 2021. He received the National Air Transportation Association’s&nbsp; Aviation Journalist Award in 2012 and won a Pegasus Sapphire Business Aviation Award for outstanding journalism in 2021.
Before joining AIN, Curt worked with&nbsp;Consumer Reports’ television division, CRTV, and for several local television news staffs. An honors graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University in 1995. Curt lives in New York State with his wife and two young sons.

Dubai-based aircraft management company Gulf Wings has taken delivery of a Bombardier Global 8000 that it will manage on behalf of BUA Group, one of Nigeria’s largest conglomerates. With its four-zone cabin offering a private suite, living area, dining space, and dedicated office, the Global 8000—now the fastest business jet—combines the operational reach of a commercial aircraft with the privacy and refinement demanded by global principals.
The 8,000-nm twinjet was recently handed over during a ceremony at Bombardier’s Montreal completion center and will enter service shortly from Gulf Wings’ UAE base. The Global 8000 will become the crown jewel of the aircraft portfolio that Gulf Wings manages for BUA Group, which has businesses in mining, food processing, cement manufacturing, port operations, construction, and oil and gas. As the conglomerate’s&nbsp;operations across the region have expanded,&nbsp;so too have its aviation requirements.
“Gulf Wings has never given me reason to second-guess this partnership, and when you are running businesses across multiple countries at the pace BUA demands, that kind of trust is not a small thing,” explained BUA Group founder and chairman Abdul Samad Rabiu. “This aircraft is the most capable we have ever operated, and I am proud it is managed by our partners in the UAE.”
