A lifelong aviation enthusiast who joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in 2007, Curt came to&nbsp;the publication&nbsp;from the broadcast industry where he was a national science and technology television reporter and producer. He writes on the FBO field, aviation finance, and sustainable aviation and occasionally contributes to&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;sister publication&nbsp;Business Jet Traveler. Curt was a member of the AINtv reporting staff that won the 2008 Aerospace Journalist of the Year award for Best Airshow Daily. That same year, he was a finalist for another AJOYA award. He earned an AJOYA for Best Business Aviation Submission in 2018 and was a finalist in that category in 2021. He received the National Air Transportation Association’s&nbsp; Aviation Journalist Award in 2012 and won a Pegasus Sapphire Business Aviation Award for outstanding journalism in 2021.
Before joining AIN, Curt worked with&nbsp;Consumer Reports’ television division, CRTV, and for several local television news staffs. An honors graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University in 1995. Curt lives in New York State with his wife and two young sons.

The International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) has welcomed Mexican trip support provider Manny as the newest member of its Industry Partner Program and its first in the country.&nbsp;According to the organization, partner program participants assist IBAC in shaping industry standards before they are adopted by civil aviation authorities.
Manny, an aircraft ground-handling company, has been a pioneer in raising safety standards as the first in Mexico to adopt IBAC’s International Standard for Business Aircraft Handling (IS-BAH) a decade ago.
“As an active IS-BAH-registered ground-handling services provider since 2016, Manny is recognized for their expertise in FBO and transportation services,” said IBAC director general&nbsp;Kurt Edwards. “We look forward to Manny’s support, insight, and participation in our mission to advocate for our industry’s safety, growth, and sustainability.”
The Toluca-based company is also the longest-tenured Mexican member of NBAA, as well as the first to be affiliated with both IBAC and CBAA.
“As an IS-BAH-registered organization, we are proponents of their internationally recognized safety standard and appreciate IBAC’s unique position to address the challenges and opportunities facing our diverse industry,” said Manny CEO Manuel Vargas. “As we continue to grow our business throughout Mexico, servicing operators from around the world, I feel it is important for us to support IBAC’s work on the international stage at ICAO.”
