GPMS International signed an expanded distribution agreement for its Foresight MX health and usage monitoring system (HUMS) with Bell Textron. The company also delivered Foresight MX HUMS to PJ Helicopters for its UH-60 Utility Hawk and Bell 407 helicopters.
PJ Helicopters is installing the HUMS in all of its UH-60s and expanding monitoring of its Bell 407 fleet. A supplemental type certificate for Foresight MX installation on the CH-47D Chinook is expected soon, and PJ plans to implement this as well.
The agreement with Bell covers the 407, 429, 212, and 412 helicopters, and Foresight MX is now a Bell-supported HUMS solution, available to purchase from GPMS or Bell.
Helicopter operators can benefit from the Foresight MX hardware and software service, which provides flight data monitoring, rotor track and balance, and engine performance and component health monitoring. Data is downloaded automatically after each flight and can be shared with the OEM, according to GPMS, “to improve remote support and gain powerful maintenance guidance.”
“Operators are demanding modern HUMS solutions backed with OEM support,” said Ronnie Ries, v-p of marketing at GPMS. “With this agreement, our customers benefit from Foresight MX’s predictive algorithms and user-friendly interface, while also gaining access to Bell’s industry-leading customer support and recommendations.”
