Fargo Jet Center has been appointed as an authorized Starlink dealer and will begin installing the SpaceX Starlink low-earth-orbit (LEO) satcom system in customer airplanes. The company plans to complete six Starlink installations this year and will expand as demand grows, it said.
“Our team is excited to work with Starlink to bring best-in-class connectivity to our customers,” said Drew Stiles, avionics lead at Fargo Jet Center. “With our extensive experience in satcom and connectivity installations across a wide range of aircraft, we’re well-positioned to integrate Starlink’s innovative technology and elevate in-flight connectivity.”
Nearly 8,000 Starlink satellites in LEO provide worldwide coverage, with download speeds from 40 to 220 Mbps and upload speeds of eight to 25 Mbps. Service prices range from $2,000 per month for 20 GB plus $100 per additional GB to $10,000 per month for unlimited. System price is $150,000, not including installation, and includes the fuselage-mounted electronically-steered antenna, router, and power supply.
