Safran Power Units is expanding the international support network for its auxiliary power unit (APU) installed on the Dassault Falcon 6X, appointing ExecuJet MRO Services’ facilities in Australia, Malaysia, and Dubai as authorized service centers (ASCs) for the SPU150 equipment.
ExecuJet MRO Services, which is owned by Dassault Aviation, will provide line maintenance for the 6X’s Safran APU, as well as component removal and replacement, troubleshooting, and removal and replacement of the entire unit as required. The business aviation support specialist has invested in tools and spare parts for the APU and sent five engineers to Safran’s facility in Toulouse for maintenance training.
According to Graeme Duckworth, president of ExecuJet MRO Services, the facilities have not previously had ASC approval for Safran’s APUs. It decided to move into this area of product support in response to growing numbers of the Falcon 6X entering service. Safran customers can have their equipment supported under its PowerCare program for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
The group has MRO facilities across Africa, Asia, Australasia, Europe, and the Middle East. Its airframe, avionics, and engine maintenance teams work on a variety of business aircraft types including those mode by Dassault and its competitors Bombardier, Embraer, Gulfstream, and Textron Aviation.
