On March 22 to 24, Avex Aviation will hold its annual safety seminar for Daher TBM single-engine turboprop owners and operators at Camarillo Airport in Southern California. The TBM distributor and MRO company has been hosting the seminar since 2009.

On tap for this year’s seminar are NTSB vice chairman Bruce Landsberg (speaking on behalf of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association), record-breaking transatlantic delivery pilot Margrit Waltz, Daher, Pratt and Whitney Canada, Hartzell, Camp Systems, Simcom, Angel Flight West, and Blackhawk Aerospace. Attendees will be able to secure FAA Wings credit for events at the seminar.

Another highlight of the event will be a skills test with an expert TBM instructor and an evaluation of participants with the high-scorer to be recognized at the dinner on Saturday evening. Speakers at the event will include Kenneth Solosky, former NYPD Aviation Unit lieutenant and chief pilot; radar expert Tom McGrath; Avex chief pilot Chris Bishop; Daher customer and network care manager Ron Guynn; and Andrew Rorke, NOAA senior forecaster/aviation program leader.

Avex expects about 80 attendees this year, including many who pilot their own TBM airplanes. The company has operations in Camarillo and Broomfield, Colorado, and was founded in 1985.
