West Star Aviation OK'd for Sovereign Winglet Installs
The MRO provider has received authorization from Winglet Technolgies to install its Transitional winglets on the Cessna Sovereign.
West Star Aviation has installed two sets of Winglet Technologies' Transitional winglets at its Grand Junction Colo.- Textron-approved service center. According to the manufacturer, the design offers an increase in range/payload capability, improved time to climb, and increased speed at altitude.

West Star Aviation has received approval to install Winglet Technologies’ Transitional winglets on the Cessna Sovereign. The authorization applies to the company’s Grand Junction, Colorado facility, one of its four full-service Textron-approved service centers, which has already installed sets on two aircraft.


“We are dedicated to building on specialized capabilities for the Citation airframe, and this addition enhances the wide array of services available for the convenience and satisfaction of our Sovereign customers,” said Dave Krogman, the location’s general manager. The company is also moving to add Sovereign winglet capability at its East Alton, Illinois flagship facility.


Meanwhile, the company has promoted Larry Marler from project manager to technical sales manager at its Chattanooga, Tennessee service center. The MRO provider is also looking to expand its staff in Chattanooga and, to this end, has open houses scheduled at the Lovell Field facility for August 2 and 16. Among the positions available are A&P and avionics technicians, aircraft painters, and quality inspectors.
