While most business jets may look similar on the outside, how they are completed can vary widely from region to region. According to Bombardier, similar to fashion, trends in aircraft interior design vary from one culture to another. “While our business aircraft clients are truly international, following their business and fashion around the globe, there often remain regional trends and cultural influences that help define tastes and styles for the particular region,” said a spokesman for the Canadian airframer. “Latin America is certainly a region with its own unique vision of style and luxury.”
One interior detail that is generally appreciated by customers in the region is hand-carved woodwork, with hand sculpted seats and polished veneers. “Culture definitely has an influence on aesthetic ideals and design tendencies, but its certainly not the only consideration,” the spokesman said. Other generally coveted features are fast and reliable broadband connectivity and the ability to convert the cabin to maximize sleeping possibilities.
Even within the region there are variations in design sensibilities. For example, “Brazilian design is often very contemporary and full of creativity and passion,” the spokesman told AIN. “We see this in their architecture, furniture and interior design; it’s natural, cool and understatedly sophisticated.”
