Crystal Cabin Awards Announced at AIX 2025
Winners highlight innovation in cabin design
Crystal Cabin Award 2025 winners

The winners of the 2025 Crystal Cabin Awards were announced during a gala at Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) in Hamburg. Recognizing innovation in aircraft cabin design and technology, this year’s honorees include Collins Aerospace, Cathay Pacific, Safran Cabin, Diehl Aviation, and Tongji University. A 27-member international jury selected the winners from a competitive field of global submissions.

Collins Aerospace earned recognition in the Cabin Technologies category for Galley.ai, a system that uses artificial intelligence and sensor integration to support real-time service updates, predictive maintenance, and streamlined crew workflows. Cathay Pacific received awards in two categories: “Gallery in the Skies,” which transforms aircraft into curated art spaces featuring Hong Kong-based artists, and “IFEC: In-Flight Entertainment & Control,” an integrated system allowing passengers to manage their environment, seat position, and entertainment from a single interface.

Safran Cabin was recognized for its Connected Interiors, an IoT solution that gathers cabin data to detect issues early and optimize maintenance. Diehl Aviation received two awards: one for the ECO Bin, a fully recyclable overhead bin designed to reduce aircraft weight and emissions, and another for Space³, an accessible lavatory concept that combines smart design with reduced weight and improved space usage.

Tongji University, in partnership with Boeing, was honored in the University category for an ultra-lightweight projector-based IFEC concept that reduces hardware weight and enhances flexibility.

The winners will showcase their innovations at AIX’s Cabin Space Live on April 9.
