Greenpoint Aerospace of Denton, Texas, recently supported Operation Icarus, a local safety exercise hosted by the City of Denton and Denton Enterprise Airport. Employees from the MRO joined with multiple safety organizations in the community to participate in a mass casualty drill. The FAA requires airports to conduct emergency response training every three years. This year’s safety training consisted of a mock aircraft crash at the Greenpoint Aerospace hangar. The main objective was to train emergency crews to ensure preparedness in case of a real‐life emergency as well as strengthen communication among the many organizations involved.

“Safety is our number-one priority at Greenpoint Aerospace. Responding to a full-blown emergency prepares the team to mitigate risks and quickly adapt to changes. No two situations are the same, similar to working on business jets. We are tested daily to deliver safety alongside quality,” said David King, Greenpoint Aerospace safety manager.
