Flying Colours has received approval from the Riyadh-based General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) to carry out maintenance work on aircraft registered in Saudi Arabia. The approval allows the company to undertake continuing airworthiness and maintenance work on the Bombardier Challenger and Global Express and Dassault Falcons.

Sean Gillespie, executive vice president, told AIN the Peterborough, Canada-based MRO does not currently have a physical presence in Saudi Arabia but is evaluating the possibility of installing a satellite base in the Middle East. The company does have a customer base in the area but the work is being done at the Canadian facility.

“We have also had discussions with other potential Saudi-based and -registered customers who can move forward now that we have GACA approval,” Gillespie told AIN. This latest certification joins approvals from Transport Canada, the FAA, EASA, Caymans and the Isle of Man.
