Propulsion International has rolled out a new group maintenance plan (GMP) for operators of aircraft powered by Honeywell’s TPE331-10 (and higher dash numbers). One of the first programs offered is for owners of Twin Commander turboprops, but Propulsion International is also offering GMP to Mitsubishi MU-2 and other TPE331 owners, including fleet operators.

At last year’s NBAA Convention, Propulsion International announced that it signed a 10-year agreement with Honeywell to back up GMP by covering the engine’s hot section, gearbox and LRUs. Propulsion International handles the compressor section, if the operator chooses that level of coverage. TPE331 operators can select a GMP from Propulsion International to cover either what CEO Chad Ahrens said are the “risky areas” (the hot section, gearbox and LRUs) or those plus the compressor section. The cost of a GMP without compressor coverage “lowers the rates substantially,” he explained. TPE331 operators can enroll at any time during the life of their engine.

Propulsion International also offers TBO extensions to 7,000 hours from 5,000 hours. GMP prices run about 15 to 20 percent lower than typical time and materials engine maintenance costs, according to Ahrens.
