Cabin interiors specialist Flying Colours (Booth H410), during this week’s ABACE show, is seeking a local partner to help it establish a completions center in Asia to mirror its existing facilities in the U.S. and Canada. It will provide full training in all the skills needed for completing business aircraft.

The Canadian company is preparing to deliver three Bombardier Challenger 850 jets to Asian customers to take the total delivered to Asia to seven by the end of 2012, and the worldwide total to 10. The latest trio will go clients in Hong Kong and Mainland China under the Civil Aviation Administration of China or Isle of Man registrations.

“We continue to see strong growth in the Asian market primarily for mid-large sized aircraft,” said executive vice president Sean Gillespie. “We are working with a number of major operators in Asia for a variety of maintenance and refurbishment packages on larger Bombardier Challengers and Gulfstream models. We have already completed refurbishment of a Global 6000 aircraft for the region, too. The trend is definitely upward in terms of continued interest in Asia.”

The 13- to 15-seat aircraft include satellite communications systems, high-gloss exotic wood veneers, in-flight entertainment systems and a number of client-specific details. One of the completed aircraft will also feature both a vacuum waste and smoke extraction system, which were custom designed and integrated in-house.

Flying Colours has also equipped three 850s for clients in Russia and the Middle East. There are a further five in the pipeline destined for Chinese clients, each completion taking around eight months.
