Greenwich AeroGroup’s Western Aircraft in Boise, Idaho has partnered with Universal Avionics to develop an avionics retrofit package for the Dassault Falcon 900B. The cockpit upgrade will replace 25 older instruments with an integrated avionics suite offering improved reliability, greater situational awareness and reduced maintenance downtime.

The suite will have five high-resolution Universal EFI-890R LED-backlit LCD displays, including an engine indication unit that replaces analog instruments. A Universal UNS-1Fw flight management system will provide Waas/SBAS/LPV capabilities upon initial STC approval in the middle of next year.

Other suite options include items such as Universal’s Vision-1 synthetic-vision system, single- or dual-side charts and graphical weather, as well as capability for video, checklists and more. Installed price for the system is estimated at around $1 million, according to Universal Avionics.

Developed specifically for the business aircraft retrofit market, Universal’s EFI-890R cockpit has found a home in a variety of models, including the Beech King Air 300/350; Challenger 600/601; Cessna Citation 500, 501, 550, 551 and 650; Dassault Falcon 10/100, 20 and 50; Gulfstream/IAI Astra, GII and GIII; Learjet 25, 35 and 60; Pilatus PC-12; Piper Cheyenne III; and Sikorsky S-76.
