EASA Part 145 approval has been granted to Vector Aerospace Engines Services’ new UK facility for all variants of the Rolls-Royce 250 turboshaft and turbofan engines. The engine model, which powers a large number of helicopters and small fixed-wing aircraft, has been part of Vector’s engine services offerings for more than 20 years. A spokesman for the company said the new UK location will support civil and military operators of the RR250 located throughout Europe and the Middle East. The EASA Part 145 award is the latest milestone in the development of the enhanced capabilities at Vector’s Fleetlands facility located in Gosport, Hampshire. Since it acquired the site from the Ministry of Defence in 2008, Vector has completely refurbished the engine shop, transforming it into an engine repair, overhaul and service center. The facility holds designated overhaul facility status for Pratt & Whitney Canada PW307A, PW308A and PW308C engines. It also provides repair, hot section inspections, borescope inspections and failure analysis for PT6A, PT6T, JT15D and PW100 engines.
