HighTech Finishing of Houston, Texas (Booth No. 479), has introduced several new, unique decorative plating finishes at the specific requests of clients. Its “Oil-rubbed Bronze” finish, for example, is the response to an inquiry from Airbus for a specific visual appearance. According to the U.S. company’s marketing vice president Rick Niefield, “The Oil-rubbed Bronze finish combines our electroplated product with a ‘cold staining’ process to achieve the desired look.”

Also new is “Spanish Bronze,” a derivative of Oil-rubbed Bronze but offering a more visible brushed pattern. The third decorative finish, called “Crescent Gold,” was developed after several European completion centers asked for an electroplated finish for use in executive/VIP cabins with a distinctive color and very accurate color consistency. It is now available in polished, satin, pearllite, frosted and hammertone textures.

Despite the difficulties of a slumping business aviation market, HighTech recently expanded its Houston, Texas headquarters, increasing the size of its production tanks to allow plating of longer lengths of interior trim, as well as complex pieces of unique shape and size.
