West Star Aviation recently installed dual Waas-capable Universal UNS-1Ew flight management systems in a Learjet 60. The upgrade also included an L-3 Avionics GH-3100 solid-state standby altitude/airspeed and vertical speed indicator, dual Rockwell Collins RTU-4220 radio tuning units, Universal MFD-890 display with ASU (application file server) and a WSI weather datalink system.

West Star Aviation removed the airplane’s Collins SDU-640 CRT navigation display unit, BF Goodrich ADI-331B standby attitude indicator, Avionix 2C131 standby airspeed indicator and the dual Universal UNS-1C+ FMS units. The Universal MFD-890 enables viewing of Jeppesen JeppView electronic charts and graphical weather information. The Universal UNS-1Ew flight management systems allow the pilots to shoot Waas LPV approaches to 200 feet and half-mile visibility.
