Cabin environment continues to become more important as a point of customer focus, particularly on long-haul private jets. Gore Design Completions of San Antonio recently ordered the Cair cabin environment package from CTT Systems of Nyköping, Sweden. Cair provides a cabin with 25-percent relative humidity, compared with the more typical 3- to 5-percent level.
Cair is based on evaporative cooling technology and incorporates the zonal drying system to counter problems associated with condensation. Gore is installing the package as part of the executive cabin completion of an Airbus A340.
Boeing has selected CTT’s zonal drying system as basic equipment for its 787 Dreamliner, and the humidifiers are optional in the crew-rest compartment and flight deck. Airbus also offers the humidification package for the A380 crew-rest compartments. CTT will offer both the humidification and zonal
drying systems as options on the A380.
