Garmin announced at EAA AirVenture that its G600 combined PFD/MFD six-pack instrument cluster replacement unit received FAA TSO approval and is now available for delivery at a retail price of $29,995. The company also said it received approved model list supplemental type certification for installation of the G600 in 785 aircraft types weighing up to 12,500 pounds. Included with the G600 system is the GDU 620 display/control unit (incorporating a 10- by 6.7-inch integrated PFD/MFD), GRS 77 AHRS, GDC 74A digital air-data computer, GMU 44 tri-axial magnetometer, GTP 59 temperature probe and required leveling brackets.  While the G1000 architecture includes internal navcoms and GPS receivers, the G600 system relies on descrete Garmin GNS 430 or 530 navigators for these functions.
