SEI’s New Philadelphia Facility Coming Up To Speed

Servizi Elicotteristici Italiani (SEI), the longtime preferred interiors provider for AgustaWestland helicopters in Italy, has opened its new U.S. facility at Northeast Philadelphia Airport. According to Massimo Isidori, operations at the 12,000-sq-ft hangar are currently focused on helicopter maintenance but interior completions on executive, EMS and law enforcement helicopters are expected to begin “full force” this summer. Interior components will continue to be built at SEI’s Monteprandone plant on Italy’s east coast and, for the time being, those destined for U.S.-built helicopters will be shipped to Philadelphia for installation. Isidori said SEI is also negotiating with a number of U.S.-based interiors vendors, and looking farther ahead the company expects to begin doing light and medium fixed-wing airplane interiors.
