Duncan Aviation has certified and installed a Rockwell Collins IDS-3000 retrofit cockpit and IFIS (integrated flight information system) file server in a customer Astra. Duncan’s Lincoln, Neb. facility performed the installation and gained the STC for the package, which applies to the Astra and Astra SP, the company said.
The IDS-3000 flight deck is an offshoot of Rockwell Collins’s Pro Line 21. In the Astra, its integrated display system consists of three 8- by 10-inch active-matrix LCDs–two primary flight displays and one multifunction display. The IFIS hardware makes possible the display of XM Nexrad weather images and Jeppesen approach and navigation charts on the flight-deck glass.
“We’re excited to offer the safety and technology of the IDS-3000 system to the Astra market,” said Steve Elofson, a Duncan salesman. “These operators have been asking for this technology for years and we are pleased to be the first to make it available to them.”
