Viking Air has just flown the 100th Twin Otter Series 400 built since the company re-launched production of the popular utility STOL transport in March 2007. Viking acquired the type certificate from Bombardier in February 2006. The aircraft is now undergoing completion before being delivered to sister company Pacific Sky Aviation, which will use it as a factory demonstrator.

The first new-production Twin Otter flew at the company’s Calgary, Alberta, plant on February 16, 2010, and Transport Canada granted type certification on June 24 that year. Viking has now sold Twin Otters to 34 customers in 29 countries.
