Singapore Leasing Company Places Order for 15 E190s

Singapore-based aircraft leasing company BOC Aviation has placed a firm order for 15 Embraer E190s, the Brazilian manufacturer announced in late November. Embraer’s newest aircraft leasing customer expects deliveries to start in the fourth quarter of this year and run through 2014.

“We see excellent potential for the E190 not only here in Asia where there is strong growth but also with airlines around the world that have discovered the importance of 100-seat aircraft capacity, both in developing new markets and complementing narrow-body operations with relevant economic gains,” said BOC Aviation managing director and CEO Robert Martin. “The E190 will allow us to expand the range of BOC Aviation products to customers in established and emerging markets.”

Calling itself Asia’s leading aircraft leasing company, BOC Aviation manages a portfolio of airplanes flying with more than 40 airlines worldwide. Apart from its headquarters in Singapore, BOC maintains representative offices in Europe and the U.S.

BOC lays claim to one of the leasing business’s youngest fleets; its airplanes average less than four years of age.
