Premature wear on Rolls-Royce XWB-84 engines powering Airbus A350s appears unrelated to the long-standing problems associated with the Trent 1000.

The new Emirates widebody deal with Airbus replaces an MOU signed in February that called for 30 A350s and 40 A330neos.

Reductions will begin in April, with an elimination of all Sunday flights, followed by 20 percent cuts each in June and October and 10 percent in January.
