After consideration of responses received to a consultation issued early in 2025, the government will&nbsp;proceed with the creation of the&nbsp;UK&nbsp;Airspace Design Service (UKADS)&nbsp;with the&nbsp;aim&nbsp;of becoming&nbsp;operational by the&nbsp;beginning of 2026. The&nbsp;initial priority for the&nbsp;UKADS&nbsp;will be to&nbsp;redesign&nbsp;the&nbsp;airspace&nbsp;around&nbsp;London,&nbsp;which is considered&nbsp;the most complex airspace in the UK.&nbsp;Airspace changes would include requirements&nbsp;for a third runway at Heathrow.&nbsp;Consultation responses also identified opportunities to streamline and simplify&nbsp;operational regulations&nbsp;associated with UKADS. A consultation period on this effort is expected to start by September 2025.
