Announcing the Top Flight Awards Jet Category Winner

AIN is proud to announce the winner of the 2020 Top Flight Awards Jet category: the Bombardier Global 5500 and 6500.

The new Globals mate time-tested fuselages to more efficient wings and engines, plus modern avionics and a redesigned cabin to deliver superior performance and comfort. The cabins typically seat 12 to 17, can be highly customized, and feature the proprietary Nuage seat that Bombardier originally designed for the Global 7500. The conference/dining areas are fitted with a related new seat design called the “Nuage Chaise.”

The new Globals are powered by the new Rolls-Royce Pearl 15 engines, producing 15,125 pounds of thrust. The aircraft also feature a reprofiled wing among other aerodynamic improvements that combined with the engines should boost fuel efficiency by up to 13 percent. Maximum cruise speed will increase from Mach .89 to .90. Maximum range increases to 5,900 and 6,600 nm on the Global 5500 and 6500 respectively.

Safety gets a boost thanks to the Collins combined vision system, which merges infrared enhanced vision and synthetic vision system imagery into a single conformal view, allowing the pilots to take off and land in just about any visibility.
