StandardAero Receives Certifications, Plans Expansion
StandardAero received an STC for JetWave installation on Globals, EASA certification for its CRFT, and plans on expanding three locations in the U.S.

StandardAero (Booth 3010) is partnering with ACI Jet to install Honeywell’s JetWave satellite communication system on the Bombardier Global series. The company also recently received EASA certification for its retrofittable crash-resistant fuel tank (CRFT) system for the Airbus Helicopters AS350 and EC130 series and is working on expansion efforts for its facilities in Cincinnati and Hillsboro, Ohio, and Miami, Florida.

The STC'd JetWave system combines JetWave hardware and a Honeywell Ka-band antenna with its CNX-900 router. This allows the system to offer airborne Internet speed and performance similar to that found in homes and offices on the ground.

Now with EASA certification for CRFT installation for the AS350 and EC130 series, StandardAero is working on replacing fuel tanks in legacy AS350 models such as the AS350D, AS350B/B1/B2/BA/B3, AS350B3e (H125), and the EC130B4. The company offers technical support for the field-replaceable kit. StandardAero received FAA certification for the system in December 2017 and has delivered more than 40 kits to customers including WeatherTech Aviation and Air Methods.

Additionally, the company will invest $16 million in construction and equipment to increase shop capacity by a total of 260,000 sq ft by expanding its facilities in Cincinnati, Hillsboro, and Miami. The Cincinnati location, which will include an additional 200,000 sq ft of workspace, will accommodate component repair growth on new platforms and military commercial engines. With an additional 30,000 sq ft for OEM manufacturing production, the Hillsboro facility will enclose 115,000 sq ft. At the Miami facility, 30,000 sq ft of new working space will enable installation of a clean line, additional vacuum furnace, water jet, and cleaning capabilities.
