JSFirm and the Sun 'n' Fun International Fly-In & Expo are pulling out all the stops to ensure that their fifth-annual Job Fair is fruitful for both employers and job seekers. The event takes place on Wednesday, April 11 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Florida Air Museum, on the campus of Sun 'n' Fun. Participants must pre-register.
“We’re showcasing an interesting mix of companies this year. They range from major airlines, cargo operators, and regional airlines to manufacturers,” JSFirm marketing coordinator Abbey Hutter told AIN. “That mix means the event provides opportunity for people looking at flight dispatching, flight operations positions, maintenance positions, engineering pilot positions, and more.” Fourteen different companies are participating in the event. “We open up the participation window early…and were maxed out by November,” Hutter said.
Job seekers sign up for one-hour time slots to maximize the quality of contact they get with company representatives participating in the fair. “We won’t kick people out, but we are going to meter them into the space at a rate of about 100 at a time,” she said. The last hour of the event is open to the public, so that those who are interested—but perhaps not quite ready to actively search for a job, such as high school and college students—can interact with personnel from the participating companies.
