Superior Air Parts' Bill Ross Publishes Book
"Engine Management 101" will debut at AirVenture this year as part of Superior Air Parts' 50th anniversary celebration.

Superior Air Parts recently published Engine Management 101, a book written by v-p of product support Bill Ross. The book will make its debut next week at AirVenture as part of a series of 45-minute forum sessions that celebrate the company’s 50 years in the aviation industry. Attendees of Superior Air Parts’ forum will receive a copy of the book.

Ross, a graduate of Alabama Aviation College, earned multiple licenses and certifications, including airframe and powerplant, commercial pilot and instrument rating. He has worked as a flight instructor and corporate and charter pilot. Ross worked for Continental Motors for 15 years in engineering, air safety and technical product support.

“I’ve spent my entire career around piston aircraft engines, either as a charter pilot, A&P/IA or working for an aircraft engine manufacturer,” said Ross. “I’ve seen just about everything owners can throw at their aircraft engine and have learned the right ways to operate and maintain an engine to avoid all the major problems. That’s the insight I’ve put in this book."

Engine Management 101 is divided into 11 chapters and covers topics such as how to choose the right mechanic, improving engine operations, cylinder compression testing and how PMA parts help owners save money.
