GlobalAir is now taking submissions for its Calvin L. Carrithers Aviation Scholarship. The scholarship will be awarded to four U.S. citizens enrolled in accredited universities or college aviation programs for the 2016-2017 school year. The recipients, who will receive $1,000 scholarships that pay $250 twice a semester, are required to share their flight training or aviation management experiences in weekly blogs. Winners will be notified by mid-August.
To apply for the Calvin L. Carrithers Aviation Scholarship, students must submit a short essay about their career path, a letter of recommendation and proof of enrollment in their university or aviation program before Aug. 10, 2016. The recipients of the 2015-2016 scholarship were students from the University of North Dakota, Eastern Kentucky University and Florida Institute of Technology.
Jeff Carrithers, president and CEO of GlobalAir, said, “We want to be able to give support to college students studying aviation, as well as provide them a way to share their experiences with industry peers. I believe it is extremely important for them to have a way to introduce themselves to the industry and begin networking now as they initiate their careers in such a face-paced field.”
