Kerry Lynch stepped into the role of editor of the&nbsp;Aviation International News&nbsp;monthly magazine in May 2022 after serving with&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;for eight years. She joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in December 2014 as a senior editor covering Washington and business aviation news. She has also served on Convention News teams, including as editor of&nbsp;HAI Convention News. Lynch previously spent 25 years with Aviation Week. During her time there, she reported for and later steered&nbsp;The Weekly of Business Aviation, oversaw business aviation content on the&nbsp;Aviation Week Intelligence Network, served on the&nbsp;Show News&nbsp;staff, and held roles as the Washington columnist for&nbsp;Business &amp; Commercial Aviation&nbsp;and&nbsp;Overhaul &amp; Maintenance&nbsp;monthly magazines. In 2021 she was honored with the National Business Aviation Association Platinum Wing Award for lifetime achievement in journalism and was the 2004 recipient of the National Air Transportation Association’s Aviation Journalism Excellence Award. She also has been a recipient of an Aerospace Media Award for business aviation (2022) and NBAA Gold Wing Award (2003, 2024). Lynch graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor of arts in journalism.

South Korea is increasing its fleet of Bombardier Global 6500s under an agreement to buy two for its Electronic Warfare (EW) program. The EW aircraft are in addition to the four announced last year for the country’s Airborne Early Warning &amp; Control (AEW&amp;C) program.
Korean Air purchased the Globals for the EW program at a signing ceremony held in Seoul with Bombardier Defense. In October, L3Harris Technologies received a contract to deliver the four modified (AEW&amp;C-configured) Global 6500s to the Republic of Korea Air Force.&nbsp;The EW Globals will be operated for Stand Off Jammer missions to disrupt enemy electromagnetic signals from a safe distance.
Noting its long-range (6,600 nm) and high-altitude (51,000 feet) capabilities, Bombardier said the Global 6500 has been selected for multiple special missions ranging from Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) to medical evacuation and head-of-state transport.
“The Global 6500 aircraft is in demand around the world because of its performance and versatility, and we’re extremely proud that it was chosen for two very advanced, yet different defense missions in South Korea,” said Michael Anckner, v-p of worldwide sales for Bombardier Defense. “This aircraft is trusted because of its proven military track record, yet it remains highly adaptable as defense needs evolve.”
