A lifelong aviation enthusiast who joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in 2007, Curt came to&nbsp;the publication&nbsp;from the broadcast industry where he was a national science and technology television reporter and producer. He writes on the FBO field, aviation finance, and sustainable aviation and occasionally contributes to&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;sister publication&nbsp;Business Jet Traveler. Curt was a member of the AINtv reporting staff that won the 2008 Aerospace Journalist of the Year award for Best Airshow Daily. That same year, he was a finalist for another AJOYA award. He earned an AJOYA for Best Business Aviation Submission in 2018 and was a finalist in that category in 2021. He received the National Air Transportation Association’s&nbsp; Aviation Journalist Award in 2012 and won a Pegasus Sapphire Business Aviation Award for outstanding journalism in 2021.
Before joining AIN, Curt worked with&nbsp;Consumer Reports’ television division, CRTV, and for several local television news staffs. An honors graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University in 1995. Curt lives in New York State with his wife and two young sons.

Canada’s London International Airport (CYXU) in Ontario has received a new service provider with the opening of FlyXcite FBO. Under construction for nearly two years, the $15 million CDN ($11 million) facility includes a two-story, glass-sheathed 12,000-sq-ft terminal with a double-height, naturally lit lobby offering panoramic runway views, refreshment bar, pilot lounge with snooze rooms and flight-planning area, showers, concierge, conference room, and catering coordination. On the second floor are offices for guest use—either long-term or daily—and a 1,200-sq-ft outdoor viewing deck with an adjoining interior kitchen.
The complex also includes a 35,000-sq-ft heated hangar that can accommodate aircraf up to the size of Bombardier Globals. Customs clearance is available on the ramp, along with full ground-handling services.
As an unbranded FBO, the location is using the European model for fuel purchasing, giving operators their choice of fuel providers, rather than being limited to a single supplier.
“FlyXcite FBO was built to challenge convention,” explained company CEO Nick Erb. “We’re delivering a facility that not only meets the highest standards of comfort and service, but also gives operators more choice and control, something that the North American market has been missing.”
