A lifelong aviation enthusiast who joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in 2007, Curt came to&nbsp;the publication&nbsp;from the broadcast industry where he was a national science and technology television reporter and producer. He writes on the FBO field, aviation finance, and sustainable aviation and occasionally contributes to&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;sister publication&nbsp;Business Jet Traveler. Curt was a member of the AINtv reporting staff that won the 2008 Aerospace Journalist of the Year award for Best Airshow Daily. That same year, he was a finalist for another AJOYA award. He earned an AJOYA for Best Business Aviation Submission in 2018 and was a finalist in that category in 2021. He received the National Air Transportation Association’s&nbsp; Aviation Journalist Award in 2012 and won a Pegasus Sapphire Business Aviation Award for outstanding journalism in 2021.
Before joining AIN, Curt worked with&nbsp;Consumer Reports’ television division, CRTV, and for several local television news staffs. An honors graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University in 1995. Curt lives in New York State with his wife and two young sons.

Atlantic Aviation has officially opened its new FBO at Napa County Airport (KAPC) in California’s wine region. Work to replace the company’s former 2,000-sq-ft terminal began in late 2024. It was torn down in March to provide more ramp space.
The new 9,500-sq-ft terminal features a spacious lobby with a fireplace and café area, crew lounge with snooze rooms and shower facilities, and a 12-seat conference room.&nbsp;An adjoining 39,000-sq-ft hangar with an additional 3,100 sq ft of shop and office space can accommodate the latest ultra-long-range business jets. It brings the complex to 89,000 sq ft of aircraft storage space.&nbsp;Also added was a fuel farm with a capacity of 40,000 gallons of jet-A and 10,000 gallons of avgas.
The facility was designed with a wide range of environmentally conscious features, including the use of recycled-content building materials, solar panels, energy-efficient lighting, bio-retention systems to improve stormwater quality, water-conserving plumbing fixtures, and native landscaping to reduce irrigation demand.
“This project represents far more than a new building—it is an investment in the overall experience of flying into Napa Valley,” said Atlantic CEO Jeff Foland. “We designed this facility to deliver the exceptional service, comfort, and operational reliability our customers expect while also creating an environment that reflects the quality and hospitality synonymous with this region.”
