A lifelong aviation enthusiast who joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in 2007, Curt came to&nbsp;the publication&nbsp;from the broadcast industry where he was a national science and technology television reporter and producer. He writes on the FBO field, aviation finance, and sustainable aviation and occasionally contributes to&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;sister publication&nbsp;Business Jet Traveler. Curt was a member of the AINtv reporting staff that won the 2008 Aerospace Journalist of the Year award for Best Airshow Daily. That same year, he was a finalist for another AJOYA award. He earned an AJOYA for Best Business Aviation Submission in 2018 and was a finalist in that category in 2021. He received the National Air Transportation Association’s&nbsp; Aviation Journalist Award in 2012 and won a Pegasus Sapphire Business Aviation Award for outstanding journalism in 2021.
Before joining AIN, Curt worked with&nbsp;Consumer Reports’ television division, CRTV, and for several local television news staffs. An honors graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University in 1995. Curt lives in New York State with his wife and two young sons.

Today marks the start of ticket sales for AIN’s <a href="https://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/business-aviation/2024-09-04/ain-announces-inaugural-fbo-awards-gala">Inaugural FBO Awards Gala</a>. The banquet will be held on the evening of March 27 in New Orleans at the World War II Museum and will honor the best of the best in the FBO industry.
Guests may purchase <a href="https://www.eventbrite.com/e/ain-fbo-awards-gala-tickets-957491702457?aff=oddtdtcreator">individual tickets or reserve entire tables</a> of 10, the latter of which will include the table host's logo and branding onsite for the event that lists Avfuel and AEG Fuels as its first sponsors.
Since 1981, AIN Media Group has been conducting its annual FBO survey, which has become one of the industry’s most valued assessments of service provider quality. For the first time, the results will be revealed at a live event, ahead of their release online and in the April 2025 edition of Aviation International News. In addition to the overall top-ranked FBOs and the highest-ranked in each category, AIN will also present its first industry achievement award.
“As soon as we announced our event last month, we had an overwhelming demand for individual tickets and tables from FBOs,” said Lisa Valladares, AIN’s marketing and client services director. “We listened and have now opened up those opportunities. We look forward to welcoming the FBO industry and are excited to launch this event in 2025.”
