A lifelong aviation enthusiast who joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in 2007, Curt came to&nbsp;the publication&nbsp;from the broadcast industry where he was a national science and technology television reporter and producer. He writes on the FBO field, aviation finance, and sustainable aviation and occasionally contributes to&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;sister publication&nbsp;Business Jet Traveler. Curt was a member of the AINtv reporting staff that won the 2008 Aerospace Journalist of the Year award for Best Airshow Daily. That same year, he was a finalist for another AJOYA award. He earned an AJOYA for Best Business Aviation Submission in 2018 and was a finalist in that category in 2021. He received the National Air Transportation Association’s&nbsp; Aviation Journalist Award in 2012 and won a Pegasus Sapphire Business Aviation Award for outstanding journalism in 2021.
Before joining AIN, Curt worked with&nbsp;Consumer Reports’ television division, CRTV, and for several local television news staffs. An honors graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University in 1995. Curt lives in New York State with his wife and two young sons.

Canada-based Skyservice Business Aviation broke ground today on its FBO at Seattle King County International Airport/Boeing Field (KBFI). The company, which will soon <a href="https://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/business-aviation/2023-02-16/skyservice-add-vancouver-fbo">add Vancouver</a> to its roster of facilities north of the border,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/business-aviation/2021-11-10/canadas-skyservice-expands-us">branched into the U.S.</a> two years ago&nbsp;with the rebranding of the four Leading Edge Jet Centers in the Pacific Northwest.
With anticipated completion in early 2025, the facility will include a 21,000-sq-ft, two-story terminal featuring an atrium lobby with fireplace, conference rooms, crew lounge, snooze rooms, and flight-planning area. It will also include&nbsp;office space, a 1,600-sq-ft upstairs terrace overlooking Mount Rainer, and an outdoor patio.
The project will add a 50,000-sq ft-hangar that will be able to accommodate the largest under-development business jets, bringing the FBO to nearly 86,000 sq ft of hangar space.
The existing terminal along with an adjoining small hangar will be torn down to make room for the new facility. During the construction period, the FBO will operate from a temporary facility.
“Seattle is one of the fastest growing cities in terms of population and hub to one of the world’s leading centers for technology and internet-based commerce,” said Skyservice president and CEO Benjamin Murray. “We are committed to working with the airport to upgrade and expand its infrastructure, focus on sustainable operations, and provide greater choice in the&nbsp;marketplace.”
