Runway Work Snarls Traffic at SFO
With hundreds of commercial flight delays and cancellations since Sept. 7, bizav operators should plan flights to the area carefully, through Sept. 26.
San Francisco International Airport's 11,381-foot Runway 10R/28L (center, left) will be closed through Sept. 26 for a project which will reconstruct a 1,900 foot section with a new base layer surface, and install new lighting and drainage. While commercial carriers adjusted their flight schedules accordingly, ensuing traffic problems have caused numerous flight delays and cancellations. Business aviation operators looking to avoid the situation have several alternatives to choose from in the region.
