The Tampa Bay Aviation Association (TBAA) raised $8,000 at its seventh annual charity golf event in support of a foundation for Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida. Its event featured multiple sponsors including NBAA, Honeywell, Air Culinaire, Dallas Airmotive, Duncan Aviation, FlightSafety International, and Gulfstream.
The recent check presented at the golf event brought TBAA’s total donations to $63,000. Every year, volunteers from All Children’s Seminole/Largo Guild have helped to support the charity event with setup and judging of the games. The Guild's current goal is to raise $1.35 million for the Johns Hopkins nursing excellence program and a new pediatric ambulance. TBAA plans to hold its eighth charity golf event in May 2019.
Meanwhile, TBAA’s upcoming safety day will be held October 5. Topics to be covered include clean aircraft fuel responsibilities and loss of control in flight, the latter of which is a targeted issue for safety improvement by the NBAA Safety Committee. The association's safety day will be held at Tampa International Airport and will also include other educational sessions.
