Duncan Aviation is expanding its presence on the Florida Gulf Coast to meet a growing demand in the region for engine services. The company will provide mobile engine services—including for AOG, scheduled, and unscheduled events—for aircraft based in or that frequently transit through the region.
As part of this effort, the company relocated Rapid Response Team leader Warren Wiatrek from Lincoln, Nebraska, to Tampa to bolster support in the region. “Before he was able to unpack his U-Haul, he received a call and was off to replace a surge valve on a Learjet 31,” the company noted.
Wiatrek, who has served in both the U.S. Air Force and Army, joined Duncan in 2014, bringing a background in GE, Honeywell, and Pratt & Whitney Canada support.
The company previously had supported the region through its Engine Rapid Response Team in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, but saw a growing need for additional services on Florida's opposite coast. “The Gulf Coast has been underserved with quick, convenient engine services,” said James Prater, turbine engine services manager for Duncan Aviation.
