Kerry Lynch stepped into the role of editor of the&nbsp;Aviation International News&nbsp;monthly magazine in May 2022 after serving with&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;for eight years. She joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in December 2014 as a senior editor covering Washington and business aviation news. She has also served on Convention News teams, including as editor of&nbsp;HAI Convention News. Lynch previously spent 25 years with Aviation Week. During her time there, she reported for and later steered&nbsp;The Weekly of Business Aviation, oversaw business aviation content on the&nbsp;Aviation Week Intelligence Network, served on the&nbsp;Show News&nbsp;staff, and held roles as the Washington columnist for&nbsp;Business &amp; Commercial Aviation&nbsp;and&nbsp;Overhaul &amp; Maintenance&nbsp;monthly magazines. In 2021 she was honored with the National Business Aviation Association Platinum Wing Award for lifetime achievement in journalism and was the 2004 recipient of the National Air Transportation Association’s Aviation Journalism Excellence Award. She also has been a recipient of an Aerospace Media Award for business aviation (2022) and NBAA Gold Wing Award (2003). Lynch graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor of arts in journalism.

The 2018 edition of the European Business Aviation Convention &amp; Exhibition is shaping up as one of the stronger shows, with more than 50 aircraft on static display and the number of exhibitors mirroring that of the 400-plus that showed up last year, organizers say.

 


The show will highlight both new and pre-owned aircraft on static display in a new layout designed to help people navigate more easily.&nbsp;But with ongoing construction at the host Geneva International Airport, visitors will need to take shuttle service to the static display, a two-minute ride from the Palexpo Hall 7.

 


New to EBACE this year is a pavilion within the show floor that highlights first-time exhibitors.&nbsp;When the pavilion was conceptualized, show organizers believed it&nbsp;might draw maybe five to ten exhibitors.&nbsp;But they since have had to double the space with as many as 18 exhibitors highlighting their wares in the pavilion.

 


As is tradition, the show will continue to serve as a forum to highlight key issues and draw top officials.&nbsp;On the eve of the convention, business aviation leaders will gather to discuss a new sustainable fuels initiative. Kicking off EBACE on May 29 is an Opening Session that will feature “Jetman” Yves Rossy. Rossy invented a series of experimental individual jetpacks, and his appearance underscores the focus on innovation. Joining Rossy will be Geneva Airport CEO André Schneider and Pierre Maudet, from the Geneva State Department.

 


European Commission representatives will be present for the unveiling of the sustainable fuels initiative, and EASA regulators are anticipated to be in attendance for an announcement regarding IS-BAO.

 


Other key issues, such as gray charter and Brexit, will be highlighted.

 


Returning to EBACE is Careers in Business Aviation Day on May 31.&nbsp;The inaugural careers day, held last year, drew more than 250 high school, vocational, and university students from 120 schools across Europe, who learned about the range of opportunities available to them in the industry.&nbsp;The event becomes particularly important as the industry focuses on workforce shortages.
