Ruag Aviation (R115), a Bombardier Business Aircraft-authorized service center, recently completed an 8C check on a Bombardier Global Express XRS at its facilities at Munich-Oberpfaffenhofen Airport in Germany. During downtime, the aircraft also received an upgrade to satcom and Wi-Fi communication technology.
“Customers have the opportunity to enhance their aircraft’s productivity, even during the downtimes required by heavy maintenance inspections like this 8C check,” said Ralf Ott, Ruag Aviation senior manager of sales and customer support. “Combining the scheduled visit with additional services from our one-stop-shop portfolio is a very real and effective way to save time and costs while also developing further passenger options to enhance growth.”
In this instance, the customer chose SwiftBroadband to upgrade the communication technology on the Bombardier aircraft. The customer also requested a new Wi-Fi router be installed with Global VT and XStream. Ruag used its in-house engineering team to complete these requests in a timely manner.
As a Bombardier-authorized service center, Ruag Aviation has the capabilities to support Bombardier aircraft at its Munich location. “We have been servicing Bombardier aircraft for 37 years now,” said Volker Wallrodt, senior v-p of business jets for Ruag Aviation. “Our customers benefit from our accumulated expertise on all services related to their Bombardier business jets, as well as our thorough engineering skills. We encourage our customers to take advantage of scheduled heavy maintenance inspections to enhance the aircraft’s value, performance, comfort, and convenience.”
