The recent World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, proved a banner event for business aviation handlers in the region, who reported record business this year. Jet Aviation’s Zurich FBO handled 720 aircraft movements and 2,200 passengers related to the conference and supported fuel sales of 370,000 gallons. That surpasses last year’s tally of 592 movements and 1,320 passengers. The World Economic Forum ran from January 23 to 26.

Between its facilities in Zurich and at People’s Airport in St. Gallen-Altenrhein, ExecuJet recorded 609 movements, as well as 11 repositioning flights at its Munich location for the event. “The World Economic Forum in Davos is a busy time for ExecuJet, and we are very pleased to have had another very successful year at our Zurich facilities,” noted Basil Gamper, the FBO’s manager. “We handled 35 large aircraft, including an Airbus A319, Tupolev 204 and Embraer 190, and sold more than 100,000 liters [26,417 gallons] of fuel on Friday alone."

Cat Air Service, a joint venture between Swiss companies Air Service Basel and Cat Aviation saw movements at its location at Zurich Airport's general aviation center increase as well, by 17 percent year-over-year.
