The International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) has scheduled 28 two-day workshops in 2018 for its International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO) and International Standard for Business Aircraft Handling (IS-BAH) programs. Established in 2002, the IS-BAO program recognizes business aviation operators who incorporate best industry practices into their daily operations. More than 700 operators in 35 countries are IS-BAO registered.
IBAC is hosting 16 IS-BAO workshops throughout the U.S. Another six are planned in Mexico, Australia, Singapore, Switzerland, the UK, and the UAE. The workshops began in January and run through early December.
IS-BAH, meanwhile, launched in 2014 to provide a similar program tailored for business aircraft handers. The program reached the 100th registration in January. IS-BAH workshops, which similarly began in January and run through December, include five locations in the U.S. and one in the UAE. The workshops comprise a day dedicated to the fundamentals of either the IS-BAO or IS-BAH program and another that focuses on auditing and evaluation requirements.
“We are looking forward to a busy workshop schedule this year and continue to identify key locations to accommodate newly interested operators, FBOs, and auditors, as well as registered participants seeking recurrent training,” said Kurt Edwards, director general of IBAC. Edwards anticipates the schedule will continue to expand throughout the year.
