Continuing its viral parody videos on C&L Aviation Group CEO Chris Kilgour’s exploits just to get to the NBAA convention, the business aircraft completions and MRO company has released a series of new videos that parody the movie Airplane for NBAA 2017. In last year’s tongue-in-cheek videos, a typo on a memo had Kilgour believing that the company was headed to the NBA (as in the National Basketball Association), not NBAA 2016.
The first in this year’s series of four videos briefly gives a nod to the NBA spoof before quickly giving way to slapstick comedy, well placed props and lines that mimic memorable ones from the actual movie as C&L’s executive team makes their way to Las Vegas for NBAA 2017 on a business jet. But the videos also highlight Bangor, Maine-based C&L’s aircraft servicing capabilities: interior completions in the first, connectivity systems in the second and paint in the third.
In each of the first three videos, Kilgour discovers a problem on board the airplane and calls on members of his team back in Bangor to help fix it. In typical Airplane fashion, there are shenanigans happening in the background during scenes where the C&L’s interiors, avionics and paint teams are assisting Kilgour.
The final video spoofs the final landing sequence of Airplane, with Otto the autopilot making an appearance as Kilgour attempts to land the jet at Las Vegas McCarran Airport for NBAA 2017. To tie this year’s video theme into its exhibit, NBAA 2017 attendees will be able to get their pictures taken with Otto at C&L’s booth.
