Rockwell Collins has signed a reseller agreement with Beijing Marine Communication and Navigation Company (MCN) to provide broadband services to its ArincDirect customers in mainland China. The agreement establishes a long-term partnership that will position Rockwell Collins to meet the growing demand for in-flight connectivity services.
“The Chinese business aviation industry is still in a relatively early stage of development,” said David Stanley, vice president of ArincDirect cabin services at Rockwell Collins (Booth P224). “This agreement with MCN provides a great foundation for giving business jet operators in China access to our full suite of satellite services.”
ArincDirect has already begun to build a strong customer base in China, but the partnership will ensure long-term success in the region, said Mike Dupuis, director of ArincDirect Asia Pacific. “The agreement solidifies our relationship [with MCN] and provides for a long-term plan for providing services in the region,” he said.
Rockwell Collins hopes to build on the partnership with MCN to expand both its connectivity and other service offerings over time as the fleet continues to grow in China. MCN, an affiliate of the Ministry of Transport’s China Transport and Telecommunication Information Center, represents the Chinese government in the participation of Inmarsat operations. ArincDirect is a reseller of satellite connectivity services globally, along with providing a range of trip support and other services.
“We are committed to ensuring that China has access to the latest connectivity technology,” said Son Zhen, vice president of sales and marketing for MCN. “This relationship will enable our business aviation operators to have access to the fastest cabin communications available.”
