Continental Motors Group To Build Facility in Alabama
As part of the company's 3-year investment program in Mobile, Alabama, the 225,000 sq. ft. facility will focus on advanced engine and parts manufacturing.

Last week, Continental Motors Group announced it will start its three-year global investment plan in Mobile, Alabama. The Avic International Holding Corp. company will build a manufacturing facility and a corporate office to replace the current 11-building footprint at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley to improve its manufacturing and customer service programs. The company will complete building design and equipment selection in 2017 and will move into the new facility in 2019.

The new facility will be approximately 225,000 sq ft,  with much of the space devoted to advanced engine and parts manufacturing using new manufacturing techniques and processes. The company also plans to build a new customer and technical service environment that will offer around-the-clock customer assistance. It also has plans to add an engineering and design service center in China.

Michael Skolnik, v-p of global operations at Continental Motors Group, said, “Continental Motors has been a big part of the local Mobile community for over 50 years and is pleased with the community support that allows us to renew our commitment to the region and our great team members for many years to come. The ‘greenfield’ facility will modernize our manufacturing processes into a world-class, high-productivity, vertically integrated center of manufacturing excellence in the new center of aviation in Mobile, Alabama.”
