Gary Jet Center (GJC), one of two FBOs at Gary/Chicago International Airport, has broken ground on a new corporate flight center at the Indiana gateway. At 8,000 sq ft, the new environmentally friendly terminal will more than double the space of the existing structure, which will be retained for tenant offices and expansion of the company’s aircraft maintenance department.
“This corporate flight center is the crowning piece in the Gary Jet Center’s goal of providing the finest flight experience in the Chicago aviation market,” said Wil Davis, chairman and CEO of the family-owned company, which has been in operation for more than 25 years.
Slated for completion this summer, the new $2.5 million terminal will feature a street-side entrance canopy, multiple pilot lounges, a pair of snooze rooms, private conversation rooms, a 12-seat A/V-equipped conference room, business center and kitchen facilities. GJC also offers 115,000 sq ft of heated hangar space.
