Hearst Buying Camp Systems
The acquisition is seen as part of Hearst's continuing strategy to diversify into data and information-based companies.

Hearst Business Media is acquiring Camp Systems International (Booth 3939), a provider of software-as-a-service solutions including maintenance-tracking software used to manage more than 19,000 aircraft, 30,000 engines and 1,300 maintenance facilities worldwide. Terms were not disclosed and the deal is expected to close by year-end, subject to regulatory approval.

The acquisition, announced last week, is part of Hearst's continuing strategy to diversify into data and information-based companies. Hearst president Steven Swartz praised Camp's recent growth record and noted its long-term customers included "the world's leading business aircraft manufacturers." Hearst is a diversified media company, with 360 companies and holdings that include cable television networks such as A&E and the credit rating agency Fitch.
